3 Ways Busy Entrepreneurs Can Get Their Book Written Quickly

Books, Business, Ghostwriting

Here’s the classic entrepreneur book writing dilemma. You want a book; you’ve got a story to tell and/or you have expertise you want to share.

The problem is you’re short on time and so you put off writing your book. Unless you’re a professional author or ghostwriter, you’re probably also short on ‘know-how’.

It’s scary because on the one hand you love the idea of being an author and having your name on your own book.

But you worry that it’ll go horribly wrong because you don’t know what you’re doing. Imposter syndrome creeps in and before you know it, your book doesn’t appear on your to-do list this week. You decide to put it off, again …

‘Who am I to write a book?’ is a question you might frequently ask yourself.

And it’s a fair question. Not everyone knows how to structure and write a great book. That’s why ghostwriting is a profession. This is why most entrepreneurs never get round to completing their book without the help of a writing coach or ghostwriter.

If you’ve been feeling guilty about not getting your book done, please let that go. That thought isn’t helping you so don’t dwell on it. It’s okay to not be brilliant at everything. Give yourself permission to get help. The key is to find a solution that suits you so you can move forward with your book.

There’s no reason to not become a published author when you’ve got something valuable to share.

In today’s blog I’ll give you three ways you can get your book written quickly even if you’ve got a to-do list a mile long.

1) Schedule blocks of time each week to work on the outline of your book.

The reason a book can seem so daunting is because you don’t yet have clarity on what you’re going to write. Treat it like any project in your business. Schedule the time and get started. Ideas will come. You’ll identify what you don’t know and then you can find appropriate solutions.

Creating your outline is a big part of getting your book written.

2) Once you’ve got clarity on which book you’ll write and you’ve outlined your chapters, go ahead and schedule daily writing time.

For most people it’s better to write a bit every day rather than to rely on one block of time to write each week. Busy entrepreneurs are notorious for last minute emergencies. Before you know it, your block of time will have disappeared in a puff of smoke and with it, your weekly book writing time.

Write little and often if you don’t have lots of free time. Most entrepreneurial authors don’t have the luxury of free time to write their book but they find time to write it anyway.

3) If you’ve tried the usual productivity strategies but you know you don’t have the time and/or don’t want to write your book yourself then hiring a ghostwriter or writing coach could be the perfect solution for you.

Don’t let your published author dream die because you don’t have the time or the skill set to write a professional book. There’s no greater way to position your expertise or increase your authority than to write a book on your topic.

A professional Ghostwriter should have the skills to coach the book out of you in the least amount of time possible so you can get on with your business. This is why even though it’s a substantial investment, it’s a great one because not only can you focus on running your business whilst a ghostwriter writes your book behind the scenes, the book will also bring you business and pay for itself many times over.

A professional Ghostwriter will write the book in your voice with your content. It’s your book, put together by a pro.

A great book will not only bring you new business if that’s its goal, but it will also get your name out there and allow you to help more people who need your expertise but who aren’t ready or able to work with you personally now.

It’s a win-win for all concerned. You build your brand in the UK, United States or even globally and you help a lot of people with your knowledge or by inspiring them with your story.
